The novel's celtic elements tie in nicely to C.P.'s pride in his Scotish heiritage. Though he has never mentioned it, he may be related to   *****.  Further study of geneological records may confirm this and any connections he has tomembers of the Wold - Newton family tree . Till then this avenue of speculation is closed .
(See Update below.)

We know that C.P. in all likelyhood visited with friends in the theatre and arts community and checked in with his siblings. While he is on public record as belonging to several professional organization little is known about their inner workings. It is rumoured that one has a connection to the town of Colbalt, Ontario and is sometimes referred to as "The Colbalt Club" . One of the supposed members of these groups is RCMP Special Inspector John Tucker, whose involvement with Tamson House was used in the Charles de Lint  novel, Moonheart .

      Monica and the              Pimpernel

As it is well publicly documented, America's Monica Lewynski recently visited the true North in the company of Canadian comedian John Green .   What was not documented by either paper or electronic press was who was on the plane with them when they left Ottawa or that the individual in question resides in Elliot Lake .

It has been known in the community that we have an exceptional individual residing here . He has been living here for a little over 20 years . His skills as an accomplished stage performer and dramatist, as well as a seasoned world traveller are common knowledge. However, there is much to this man that is known to very few . The speculations that are now being revealed here are based on a careful shifting of rumour and conjecture .

To begin with we can only wonder at the synchronistic events that put the widely known Monica on the same plane as C.P. . In fact, considering the press's  description of this media non-event , it would not be difficult to imagin that perhaps this chance encounter at an Ottawa airport and shared departure were part of some larger pattern that we can only faintly discern . What then do we know to be possibly true beyond their shared  means of travel at particular time and date ?

Beyond this we can put aside the rumour that C.P. was once a Narcotics Agent masquerading as a geography teacher . This rumour first circulated when he came to Elliot Lake. A rumour he himself encouraged to great amusement . The rumour, while providing great entertainment for himself and friends (there is no word on Tucker's opinion of the ruse), helped hide some of  his more daring exploits .
